Astute’s Nuclear Team is partnering with a specialist waste management organisation with a strong focus on sustainability, safety and professional development to recruit a Site Manager for its site in Kings Cliffe. The strategically important Site Manager role comes with a salary of up to £75,000, private healthcare, life assurance and more.

- Take overall responsibility for the safe, compliant and commercially successful operation of the ENRMF and Thornhaugh sites.
- Provide strong, visible leadership across site operations and drive a positive health and safety culture.
- Lead, coach and develop the site leadership team and wider workforce.
- Take ownership of site budgets, P&L, costs and financial performance.
- Develop and deliver annual business plans, operational KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with permits, licences, regulatory requirements and company procedures.
- Oversee landfill operations, cell development, restoration and civil engineering activities.
- Ensure effective management, maintenance and reliability of site plant and vehicles.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, performance and profitability.
- Work collaboratively with Commercial, HSEQ, HR, Finance and Technical teams.
- Maintain effective relationships with regulators, planning authorities and local stakeholders.
- Support customer service and commercial growth across the sites.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Proven experience in people and operational management, ideally within waste management, landfill, hazardous waste or a similarly regulated environment.
- Experience of P&L and budget management.
- Experience developing and delivering business plans and operational KPIs.
- WAMITAB COTC Level 4 qualifications relevant to hazardous waste and/or landfill would be advantageous.
- NEBOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
- Full driving licence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for two important operational sites: ENRMF (East Northants Resource Management Facility) at Kings Cliffe near Peterborough, a specialist hazardous waste treatment and disposal facility handling challenging waste streams including radioactive waste, and Thornhaugh, a non-hazardous and stable non-reactive hazardous waste landfill. Together, the sites provide specialist treatment and disposal solutions covering hazardous and non-hazardous waste, radioactive waste, contaminated materials and renewable energy residues.
