Astute's Renewables team is partnering with a key business and influential player in the global energy market. The company has a vast portfolio of renewable energy assets and a brilliant company culture of looking after their employees. We're looking for a Level 3 qualified Electrician to join the team to cover large scale, ground mount solar assets across the Suffolk region. This Solar Technician comes with a salary up to Β£40,000, with door to door pay and paid overtime too, including travel time.

Responsibilities and duties of the Solar Technician role:

  • Reporting to the Field Service Team Leader you will ensure the best performance of large-scale renewable energy assets.
  • Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar and battery storage sites.
  • Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties.
  • Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues.
  • Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets.
  • Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems.
  • Look for trends and use data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result.
  • Occasional electrical works across the site including the welfare cabins and other associated electrics.
  • Occasional working away from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs this.

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • At least a level 3 qualification in electrical installation.
  • 2391 test and inspection is hugely preferred.
  • Solar experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Any health and safety qualifications are a benefit.
  • Full UK driving licence.
