Astute's Power team is partnered with a global waste management company, who operate several Energy from Waste Power Stations, to recruit a Shift Team Leader for their Energy from Waste Power Station in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. The vital Shift Team Leader role comes with a salary of up to Β£59,222 + Up to 15% Bonus + Overtime + Benefits. Responsibilities
- Day-to-day leadership of the shift operations team who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
- Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters whilst complying with strict HSE rules and regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
- Managing the site's safety systems including the permit to work system and acting as a HV Senior Authorised Person for the purpose of issuing permits, switching, and carrying out isolations.
- Providing technical supervision and assistance where necessary for company and contract staff engaged in work.
- Providing effective training and monitoring of shift staff to ensure personnel are competent to undertake their duties.
- Providing effective administration and application of safe systems of work and Health and Safety policies.
Professional qualifications
- Ideally have a HNC minimum qualification (not a necessity) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Being HV Senior Authorised Person will be highly advantageous.
- Ideally have a formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
Personal skills and prior experience
- The Shift Team Leader role would suit someone who has prior experience working in operations within a heavy process engineering environment such as Power (EfW, Biomass, CCGT, OCGT, Coal, etc), Steelworks, Refineries, COMAH sites, etc.
- Excellent proven leadership skills.
- Thorough understanding of using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
- Experience working with steam raising plant.
- Good Knowledge of safe systems of work and health & safety within a power station or similar heavy process environment.
Salary and benefits
- Starting salary of up to Β£59,222.
- Up to 15% Bonus.
- Overtime (1.5x).
