Plant Operator - Energy from Waste

Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit a Plant Operator to work at an Energy from Waste plant in Worcestershire. Responsibilities and duties of the Plant Operator role Reporting to the Shift Team Leader you will: Safely and efficiently operate the Energy from Waste facility in line with operational procedures Monitor and control plant operations from the central control room using computer-based control systems Carry out routine plant inspections, operational checks and testing to ensure equipment is operating correctly Monitor plant performance and identify any issues or abnormalities, escalating where required Monitor CCTV and site security systems as part of the safe and secure operation of the facility Record, analyse and report operational data accurately throughout the shift Raise work requests and report plant defects or maintenance requirements when identified Support emergency response procedures and follow operational instructions during incidents Monitor consumables and residue levels to help maintain continuous plant operation Complete accurate shift logs and detailed handovers to ensure effective communication between shifts Professional qualifications Experience working shifts within a continuous process or industrial environment Experience within power generation, Energy from Waste, defence or a similar operational environment would be advantageous Understanding of industrial plant operations, safe working practices and Health, Safety and Environmental requirements Good computer literacy with the ability to operate computer-based control and monitoring systems Happy to work a rotating shift pattern including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays Personal Skills The Plant Operator role would suit someone who is: Calm and logical, with the ability to identify issues and make appropriate decisions Reliable and adaptable, with a flexible approach to working within a rotating shift team A strong communicator who can work effectively both independently and as part of a wider operational team Salary and benefits of the Plant Operator role Competitive salary and benefits package Long term progression opportunities Opportunity to join a leading Energy from Waste company (#LI-RW1) INDPOW Astute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
