Astute's Power team is partnering with an energy company to recruit a Plant Manager / 11kV SAP for its Biomass site in Lincolnshire. The Plant Manager and SAP role comes with a salary up to £60,000 + benefits package. Responsibilities and duties of the Plant Manager role

  • Take overall responsibility for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the CHP plant.
  • Act as the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for high-voltage electrical systems and switching operations.
  • Lead and develop operations, maintenance and engineering teams to achieve high performance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental and engineering regulations.
  • Manage statutory inspections, Written Schemes of Examination and asset integrity programmes.
  • Oversee planned outages, maintenance activities and contractor performance.
  • Drive plant reliability, efficiency and availability through effective operational management.
  • Manage site budgets, expenditure and operational performance against agreed targets.
  • Ensure environmental permits and compliance obligations are maintained at all times.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency and commercial performance.

Professional qualifications

  • Fully qualified Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with HV switching experience (11kV minimum, 33kV desirable).
  • Degree, HNC or HND qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • BOAS Manager accreditation and extensive experience managing industrial boiler and steam systems highly desirable, or relevant hands-on experience.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory regulations including PSSR, LOLER, DSEAR, PUWER, Electricity at Work Regulations and Environmental Permitting requirements.
