Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit an Operations Technician to work at an Energy from Waste plant in Worcestershire. The Operations Technician role comes with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities and duties:
- Safely and efficiently operate the Energy from Waste facility in line with operational procedures.
- Monitor and control plant operations from the central control room using computer-based control systems.
- Carry out routine plant inspections, operational checks and testing to ensure equipment is operating correctly.
- Monitor plant performance and identify any issues or abnormalities, escalating where required.
- Monitor CCTV and site security systems as part of the safe and secure operation of the facility.
- Record, analyse and report operational data accurately throughout the shift.
- Raise work requests and report plant defects or maintenance requirements when identified.
- Support emergency response procedures and follow operational instructions during incidents.
- Monitor consumables and residue levels to help maintain continuous plant operation.
- Complete accurate shift logs and detailed handovers to ensure effective communication between shifts.
Professional qualifications:
- Experience working shifts within a continuous process or industrial environment.
- Experience within power generation, Energy from Waste, defence or a similar operational environment would be advantageous.
- Understanding of industrial plant operations, safe working practices and Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Good computer literacy with the ability to operate computer-based control and monitoring systems.
- Happy to work a rotating shift pattern including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Personal Skills:
- Calm and logical, with the ability to identify issues and make appropriate decisions.
- Reliable and adaptable, with a flexible approach to working within a rotating shift team.
- A strong communicator who can work effectively both independently and as part of a wider operational team.
