Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Power Generation company to recruit a Commercial Project Manager for a hybrid role working across CCGT sites in the north of the UK. The Commercial Project Manager comes with a starting salary of up to £85,000 + car allowance + bonus + benefits. Responsibilities and duties of the Commercial Project Manager:
- Manage mid- to large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring successful delivery on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a psychologically safe, inclusive, and diverse work environment.
- Act as a role model for leadership, empowering international teams and bridging cultural differences.
- Oversee financial project management, including budgeting, cost control, and implementation of optimization measures.
- Plan and control energy asset projects, coordinating all commercial, contractual, and risk-related aspects.
- Develop procurement strategies, select appropriate contract types, and collaborate with procurement and legal teams on contract preparation.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
- Lead contract and claim management processes, including financial negotiations and coordination between procurement and contract management teams.
- Ensure high standards of health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) performance across all projects.
- Implement change control mechanisms to maintain compliance with financial policies and commercial requirements.
Professional qualifications:
- Degree in an environmental or sustainability-related field.
- Chartered status with a recognised environmental institution (or actively working towards it within 12 months) - highly desirable.
- Significant experience in environmental compliance and sustainability within a complex, operational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and embed compliance frameworks and best-practice standards.
- Experience delivering training, producing clear reporting, and supporting bid or project mobilisation activities.
Personal skills:
- Excellent communication skills, persuasive and assertive, with the ability to work effectively in international teams.
- Willingness to travel as required for project needs.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion, valuing different perspectives to enhance outcomes.
