Astute's Biogas Team is partnering with a key player in the anaerobic digestion market who are looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their team. They design, build and maintain assets across the country and we're looking for a Field Service Engineer who is happy with being away from home most of the week and/or working long days (which are rewarded with excellent overtime rates). The Field Service Engineer role comes with a salary up to £45,000, plus overtime, van and paid fuel. You also need to be within an hour of Lincoln in order to collect your equipment for the day/week before hitting the road and/or to perhaps collect a colleague or Apprentice, for example. Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide UK-wide on-site support, repairing, maintaining and servicing key equipment at customer locations across the UK
- Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and planned preventative maintenance on a selection of equipment, such as pumps, motors, conveyors, pipework, mixers and other typical parts at an anaerobic digestion site
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults, undertake repairs, and test machinery to ensure performance and safety standards are met
- Commission equipment and assist with installations at customer sites as required
- Accurately complete service reports, job sheets, and technical documentation within required timescales
- Provide assistance to the UK Service Manager and learn some of the managerial tasks to increase your skillset
- Collaborate effectively within the engineering team to meet operational targets and customer requirements
- Stay away through the week when required and be flexible with plans changing at relatively short notice
Professional Qualifications
- Level 3 mechanical engineering qualification as a minimum
- Proven experience in a field engineering role
- Experience in anaerobic digestion, energy from waste, sewage/effluent treatment, fast-paced food production or something similar
- A clean UK driving licence
Personal Skills
- Flexible and happy to travel
- Willing to stay away when required, which could be regular
- Not shy of some wet, smelly or cold conditions (especially in the Winter)
Salary and Benefits
- Up to £45,000 basic salary, depending on experience
- Overtime rate of 1.5x hourly rate after standard hours are worked
