Astutes Power Team are working with a leading Waste Management company with a portfolio of Material Recovery, Waste Transfer and Energy Recovery facilities across Central and East London. We are looking for a Material Recovery Facility Manager to run the day-to-day operations on their facility located on the Thames in Wandsworth.

Responsibilities and duties of the Material Recovery Facility Manager role:

  • Manage the process of received waste in accordance with legal and company procedures while maintaining compliance with the permit
  • Manage MRF personnel, including understanding core personnel procedures and employment legislation
  • Manage production, including ensuring that all Health and Safety regulations are met
  • Manage contracts and allocate resources to operations and tasks
  • Manage the MRF finance and work with the Senior Manager to maintain budgets
  • Retain existing business
  • Perform other reasonable activities and duties under the direction of the Senior Manager

Professional qualifications:

  • Ideally an IOSH or NEBOSH or Health & Safety Qualification
  • A relevant Waste / Environmental Certificate would be advantageous

Personal skills:

  • Several years management experience working on a Material Recovery Facility or similar (Waste Transfer Station)
  • Strong budget and commercial understanding including management of waste contractors
  • Strong IT skills
  • Able to support the team where required
