Responsibilities and duties of the Engineering and Maintenance Manager role
- Lead the Engineering & Maintenance Department, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery of engineering activities.
- Oversee maintenance strategies, technical standards and engineering procedures.
- Support major maintenance events, investigations and plant incidents.
- Develop and manage departmental staff, setting objectives and monitoring performance.
- Control engineering budgets and ensure work aligns with the Annual Operating Plan.
- Maintain and improve the site CMMS, engineering documentation and contractor management.
- Provide technical guidance on complex issues and contribute to site improvement initiatives.
- Deputise for the Plant Manager and participate in the duty manager rota.
Professional qualifications
- Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- Senior E&M leadership experience in a continuous process environment.
- Strong knowledge of engineering risk, asset integrity, ATEX/DSEAR and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with COMAH, Process Safety and Safe Systems of Work.
- Experience managing budgets, technical standards and major maintenance activities.
- Competence in CMMS use, engineering documentation and contractor oversight.

- Highly organised, commercially aware and committed to safety.
- Able to make sound decisions and manage technical challenges effectively.
