Health and Safety Manager
Astute's Power team are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to support the Lower Thames Crossing project during the utilities diversion phase.
The role will focus on ensuring the safe delivery of high-risk excavation works in proximity to live services and maintaining compliance with company procedures and statutory requirements.
Role responsibilities and key skills
Provide day-to-day Health and Safety support to the project team.
Review risk assessments and safe systems of work for planned activities.
Monitor site activities and intervene where unsafe conditions or behaviours are identified.
Support safe excavation and utility works, particularly those involving live services.
Work closely with project leadership and operational teams to manage risk and promote safe behaviours.
Carry out and support inspections, audits and incident investigations.
Drive continuous improvement in Health and Safety performance.
Experience in Health and Safety management within utilities or civil engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of excavation and utility safety risks.
Experience working on high-risk infrastructure projects.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent required.
CMIOSH or equivalent professional membership desirable.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Location and working arrangements
