Astute People are currently recruiting an Electrical Engineer to join the maintenance department of a large Energy from Waste plant in Kent. This plant can produce up to 45MW of Power by processing up to 550,000 tonnes of waste per year, usually destined for landfill. The Electrical Engineer will play an integral part in ensuring the plant's electrical systems are maintained and in working order to ensure maximum plant availability. Responsibilities and duties:
- Managing electrical and engineering projects from concept through to installation, commissioning and handover
- Taking responsibility for the site electrical distribution network, including HV supplies and switchgear
- Ensuring statutory electrical testing and inspections are completed in line with the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and best practice
- Supporting the development and use of the site CMMS in line with maintenance strategies
- Assisting with plant upgrades, planned outages and continuous improvement initiatives
- Managing and supervising contractors and supporting maintenance teams when required
- Deputising for the Maintenance Manager and Team Leaders when needed
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with SHEQ standards
- Providing technical support to other EFW sites within the group when required
