Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Renewables company to recruit a Head of Development for their Renewables team across the UK and Ireland. The Head of Development role will be focused on their Wind and Solar assets. This is a hybrid role, and travel to assets will be required on a regular basis. Starting salary is c. £120,000 + car allowance + bonus + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties:
- Lead and develop a geographically dispersed renewable development team of 10+ professionals across the UK and Ireland.
- Drive renewable energy projects from origination through to Ready-to-Build and Financial Decision stages.
- Deliver ambitious development targets and ensure successful execution of greenfield initiatives.
- Lead project origination activities through acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic business development opportunities.
- Build and manage renewable energy portfolios comprising utility-scale solar and onshore wind projects.
- Oversee partnership and acquisition activities to maximise project progression and commercial success.
- Provide high-quality reporting, market insights, and regulatory guidance to the wider renewables team.
- Develop and implement country-level renewable energy strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Act as the key interface between Development and internal departments including EPC, Commercial Analysis, Offtake, and Asset Rotation teams.
- Represent the Development team externally while promoting a collaborative, solution-focused leadership culture internally.
Professional qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant subject is highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing and growing multi-location teams, including matrix management experience.
- Strong project management expertise, particularly within acquisition-led renewable development environments.
- Demonstrated track record in UK utility-scale solar and onshore wind project development from origination to Ready-to-Build stage.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and partnership-building skills.
- Strong understanding of UK renewable energy permitting, regulation, and market dynamics.
Personal Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working in international environments with willingness to travel regularly.
