We are working in partnership with Electrical and Instrumentation subcontractors recruiting for an Electrical Technician to work on a Power Station in Southeast England on an initial 6-month contract. The Electrical Technician role comes with a competitive rate per hour.
Key skills:
- Perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance activities.
- Safely operate, isolate and maintain electrical systems up to 11kV.
- Undertake switching operations in accordance with site electrical safety rules.
- Carry out inspection, testing and fault finding on:
- HV/LV switchgear.
- MCCs and distribution boards.
- Transformers.
- Motors and drives.
- UPS systems.
- Lighting and small power installations.
- Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective repairs.
- Support plant shutdown and maintenance campaigns.
- Complete electrical inspections and produce detailed reports.
- Review and work from electrical schematics and single line diagrams.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with site procedures and legislation.
- Operate within permit-to-work and isolation procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
