We are looking for Systems Engineers across all levels of experience, with backgrounds in heavy regulated sectors. The Systems Engineer role comes with a competitive salary sitting in the bracket of around £40,000 - £65,000 dependant on experience, alongside the opportunity to work on complex engineering projects within a highly regulated environment. Responsibilities and duties of the Systems Engineer role Reporting to the Manager you will: Develop systems engineering solutions in line with project requirements, company procedures and applicable standards. Capture, manage and maintain technical and stakeholder requirements, ensuring appropriate traceability throughout the engineering lifecycle. Support systems architecture development, functional modelling, interface definition and integration strategies. Interpret technical requirements, specifications and stakeholder needs to develop robust engineering solutions. Support systems integration, verification, validation, acceptance and technical assurance activities. Produce, review and technically check systems engineering documentation, including requirements specifications, interface definitions, verification documentation and technical reports. Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, peer reviews and assurance activities. Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, project delivery teams, suppliers and customers to resolve technical issues. Support engineering risk management, hazard identification and safety-focused engineering activities. Contribute to configuration management, technical baselines, interface control and engineering change management. Support integration, testing, commissioning and system acceptance where required. Provide technical input into bids, solution development, project planning and engineering estimates. Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following: Degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Control, Software Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Relevant Systems Engineering experience. Experience working across a multidisciplinary engineering environment. Experience with requirements capture, management, allocation and traceability. Experience supporting systems architecture, interface management and systems integration. Experience with verification, validation and acceptance activities. Experience using requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, SysML, UML or equivalent. Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle processes and structured engineering methodologies. Nuclear or other highly regulated industry experience would be advantageous. The ability to gain security clearance is essential for this role. IEng/CEng or INCOSE certification would be advantageous. Personal skills The Systems Engineer role would suit someone who is: Technically strong with a structured approach to engineering delivery. Comfortable taking ownership of systems engineering activities and deliverables. A strong problem solver who can apply engineering judgement to complex technical challenges. Confident communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaborative and comfortable working across multiple engineering disciplines. Able to manage competing priorities within a project delivery environment. Committed to high standards of safety, quality and engineering professionalism.
