Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a leading innovator in renewable energy production, specialising in biogas plants to recruit a Project Engineer for their Girvan site. Responsibilities
- Work with Operations during project scoping to ensure accurate design information aligned to budget and programme.
- Support tendering and supplier selection.
- Manage procurement of subcontractors, suppliers, plant and materials.
- Plan and maintain project programmes using Microsoft Project (or similar) to deliver against time, cost and quality targets.
- Track costs, forecasts, variations and change control, highlighting any risks or commercial issues.
- Keep site records up to date, including diaries, progress updates and programme records for claims and delays.
- Coordinate suppliers and contractors to ensure resources are in place when needed.
- Maintain risk registers and support KPI tracking and supply chain performance improvements.
- Work with Compliance and SHEQ teams to implement project Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety plans.
- Support project handover including commissioning, O&M manuals, as-built records and final close-out.
- Support continuous improvement across multiple sites.
Qualifications
- Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar discipline (essential).
- Project management qualification (APM or equivalent) desirable.
- Strong understanding of engineering project delivery within industrial or energy environments.
Personal Skills
- Commercially aware with a focus on cost control and risk management.
- Strong communicator, able to engage effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Flexible to travel frequently across project sites in Scotland (and wider UK as required).
