Astute's Power Team is partnered with a global company to recruit for an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Reliability Manager to assist with the UK, and occasionally global, O&M matters across the fleet of Energy from Waste Power Stations. The vital O&M Reliability Manager role comes with a competitive salary + Car Allowance + Bonus + Private Medical + travel expenses + other benefits. This is a hybrid role which will involve travel across the UK as well as international travel.

Responsibilities and dutiesReporting to the O&M/Performance Director, you will be responsible for:
- Perform independent audits and inspections across O&M sites, delivering comprehensive reports, improvement initiatives, and practical recommendations to strengthen operational reliability, maintenance efficiency, and asset health.
- Maintain full compliance of operational and maintenance activities with legal, corporate, client, HSEQ, and industry standards, while fostering a proactive culture of safety, discipline, and ongoing improvement.
- Assess plant performance, maintenance practices, equipment condition, and reliability data to detect risks, optimise asset efficiency, and drive preventative and predictive maintenance efforts.
- Design and execute operational assurance and reliability programmes for EfW, Biomass, Renewable Gas, Biogas/AD, and industrial process plants, ensuring standardised practices and effective resolution of performance gaps.
- Contribute to major incident investigations, behavioural safety programmes, and cross-site knowledge sharing, providing regular operational and reliability insights to senior management and Group HSE teams.
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Ideally a Degree in a relevant Engineering subject - those with HND/HNCs will also be considered.
- A formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH will be advantageous but not a necessity.
- A full UK driving licence is a necessity given the nature of the role with travel.
The O&M Reliability Manager would suit someone who has:
- Prior Senior Management experience within the O&M Team of a Power Station (ideally EfW) - those with significant Operations/Engineering Management will also be considered.
- Strong understanding of critical plant including boiler systems, steam cycles, rotating plant, etc.
- Proven background in operations, maintenance, reliability, asset integrity or operational assurance roles.
- Good financial and commercial acumen.
