Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a UK based renewable energy company who specialises in the development, construction and operation of utility scale solar projects, to recruit a HV Design Engineer to support with commercial-scale and utility-scale projects. The HV Design Engineer role comes with a Salary up to £70,000 + car allowance, healthcare and flexible, hybrid working along with training and development opportunities. Responsibilities and duties of the HV Design Engineer role:

  • Lead electrical design of HV and LV systems, with a focus on MV (11-33kV) networks, for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects.
  • Develop and review system architecture and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) from concept through to detailed design, including MV collection and grid interface design.
  • Manage and coordinate grid connection applications, including technical submissions and liaison with the relevant DNO.
  • Ensure full compliance with applicable grid codes and connection standards, including G99 and G100 requirements.
  • Coordinate and review electrical studies such as load flow, fault level analysis, protection coordination, and power quality assessments.
  • Specify and define primary electrical plant.
