Astute's Renewables team is looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join the specialist renewable energy team. This role will primarily be field based throughout the UK. The Project Engineer role offers a negotiable salary depending on experience along with the opportunity to work in a collaborative, values-led environment focused on innovation, growth, and development. Responsibilities and duties of the Project Engineer role:- Work outdoors in all weather conditions (work is rarely cancelled due to weather)
- Carry out groundworks, including small excavations and pole installations
- Mount electrical boxes and dry-fit electrical components
- Perform electrical wiring, splicing, and work with Cat 6 / Cat 7 cabling
- Install and commission camera systems, optical/infra-red cameras, and access control pads
- Conduct walk testing and commissioning alongside technical engineers
- Fault-finding and resolving issues on site
- Undertake other duties as required to support site operations
- CSCS or ECS card is essential
- NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification and Gold Card would be an advantage
- Full UK Driving Licence essential with additional heavy machinery licences being a plus
- Must have proven experience working outdoors on construction sites or similar
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Understands electrical diagrams, groundworks and civils drawings
- Has had exposure to groundworks previously
- Willing to work a highly mobile role—travelling across the whole of the UK
