Astute's Renewables team is looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join the specialist renewable energy team. This role will primarily be field based throughout the UK. The Project Engineer role offers a negotiable salary depending on experience along with the opportunity to work in a collaborative, values-led environment focused on innovation, growth, and development. Responsibilities and duties of the Project Engineer role:
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions (work is rarely cancelled due to weather)
  • Carry out groundworks, including small excavations and pole installations
  • Mount electrical boxes and dry-fit electrical components
  • Perform electrical wiring, splicing, and work with Cat 6 / Cat 7 cabling
  • Install and commission camera systems, optical/infra-red cameras, and access control pads
  • Conduct walk testing and commissioning alongside technical engineers
  • Fault-finding and resolving issues on site
  • Undertake other duties as required to support site operations
Professional qualifications:
  • CSCS or ECS card is essential
  • NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification and Gold Card would be an advantage
  • Full UK Driving Licence essential with additional heavy machinery licences being a plus
  • Must have proven experience working outdoors on construction sites or similar
Personal skills:
  • Willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Understands electrical diagrams, groundworks and civils drawings
  • Has had exposure to groundworks previously
  • Willing to work a highly mobile role—travelling across the whole of the UK
