Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading O&M provider to recruit an EC and I Engineer for its Energy from Waste power plant in Hull.

Responsibilities and duties of the EC and I Engineer role:

  • Reporting to the E&M Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering on site.
  • Ensuring compliance with functional safety, cyber security, and hazardous area management standards.
  • Managing EC&I maintenance systems, contracts, and reporting to meet operational and safety requirements.
  • Supervising and developing your team, maintaining high levels of competence and performance.
  • Overseeing safety planning, scheduling, and execution of EC&I works for both internal and external resources.
  • Supporting key site processes, including CMMS, maintenance workflows, and strategic spares management.
  • Leading fault diagnosis, investigations, and improvement initiatives across EC&I systems.

Professional qualifications:

  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in electrical, control, or instrumentation engineering.
  • Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • Proven experience in a power generation, energy from waste, or similar heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of EC&I legislation, standards, and best practice.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
