Astute’s Renewable Energy team is partnering with a leading UK business in anaerobic digestion that provides cost-effective, low‑carbon food and organic waste management. We are looking to recruit a Technical Compliance Manager to support our clients’ sites across the UK. Reporting to the Compliance Director you will:
- Oversee emissions monitoring and undertake olfactory and gas leak detection sampling/monitoring.
- Provide support on technical monitoring requirements and submissions to the regulatory bodies.
- Support the Compliance Team on annual reports and pollution inventory returns for the sites as required by permits, approvals, and planning permissions.
- Support on technical submissions, e.g., dispersion modelling, for permit variations and renewals to the EA, planning authorities and other relevant bodies as required.
- Undertake optical gas camera surveys across all sites as required by the EA/NRW/SEPA.
- Oversee bioaerosol monitoring as required by permits and undertake dust surveys and generate reports as required.
- Other duties as required.
Professional Qualifications
- Academic background in Environmental Science, Geography or a similar field.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
Personal skills
- Experience working in anaerobic digestion or a similar waste sector.
- Extensive experience in environmental monitoring.
- Experience liaising with the EA/NRW/SEPA on technical matters.
- Willingness to travel UK‑wide with occasional overnight stays.
- Good organisational, planning and time‑management skills.
- Computer literate in all Microsoft packages.
