Responsibilities and duties of the Manufacturing Engineer role

  • Analyse existing manufacturing processes and develop improved methods to increase efficiency, quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support to production teams, resolving manufacturing issues and responding to technical queries.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Design, define and introduce new manufacturing tools, equipment and production methods.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses for new manufacturing processes and improvement initiatives.

Professional qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a Manufacturing Engineer position within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear safety regulations, quality standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience designing, defining and improving manufacturing processes, tools and equipment.
  • Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • SC clearable or currently SC cleared, with sole British nationality required.
