Astute's Power team are looking to recruit a DCS Commissioning Operator on an Energy from Waste Project in West Midlands on a 3-month minimum contract. Key skills Operate and monitor plant systems through the Valmet DNA Distributed Control System (DCS). Support commissioning activities including plant start-up, shutdown, functional testing, and performance testing. Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting of process and control system issues during commissioning. Carry out plant walkdowns and verify field equipment operation against DCS indications. Work closely with the commissioning team to execute commissioning procedures and test documentation. Record operational data, test results, and commissioning observations accurately. Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with site health, safety, and environmental requirements. Participate in daily commissioning meetings and handovers. Must have proven experience operating and commissioning Valmet DNA DCS systems. Must have previous experience working on Energy from Waste (EfW) and/or Biomass power generation projects. Hold strong understanding of plant commissioning, start-up, shutdown, and testing activities. Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and safe systems of work. Ability to work effectively alongside commissioning engineers, operations teams, and subcontractors. Ability to work on a shift pattern on days initially.
