Astute's Power team is exclusively partnering with a leading Energy from Waste servicing company in the UK to recruit a Mechanical Technician to join the team, based in the East Midlands. This permanent role is hybrid, with travel required UK wide and offers c. £55,000 plus overtime and flexible working arrangements. Responsibilities of the Mechanical Technician Reporting to the Project Manager you will: Carry out mechanical maintenance activities across various Energy from Waste power stations, including major servicing works, planned outages and general maintenance. Conduct site inspections and define detailed scopes of work in collaboration with the Site Supervisor. Execute maintenance activities independently and as part of a wider site team, coordinating workloads and resources where required. Ensure compliance with internal processes, health and safety requirements and quality management procedures. Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and other relevant Health and Safety documentation. Coordinate activities with internal teams, site supervisors, clients, external partners and suppliers to ensure effective project delivery. Required qualifications and experience To be considered, you must have: An apprentice trained mechanical engineer with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Experience working as a mechanical technician in the power industry, or a similar heavy industrial setting.
