Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a leading renewable energy business specialising in utility-scale solar PV to recruit a Solar O&M Technician to support sites across the UK. Responsibilities and duties:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance across utility-scale solar PV sites
- Diagnose and repair faults on solar PV systems, electrical equipment and associated infrastructure
- Respond to reactive maintenance callouts to minimise site downtime
- Complete scheduled inspections and ensure sites remain compliant with health and safety standards
- Produce accurate maintenance reports and record all completed work
- Identify opportunities to improve system performance and site reliability
- Assist with the commissioning of new solar PV installations
- Ensure compliance with all company Health, Safety and Environmental policies
- Other duties as required
Professional qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
- 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification would be advantageous
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting or commissioning electrical systems
- Previous experience within utility-scale or commercial solar PV would be beneficial
Personal skills:
- Safety conscious with a strong commitment to high HSE standards
- Practical and hands-on with excellent fault-finding abilities
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently across multiple sites
- A strong communicator who works well within a wider operations team
