Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading Engineering and Industrial Solutions Sub-Contractor who operate in the Power Generation, Utilities, Petrochemical and Heavy Industry sector. We are looking for an Accountant to drive profitable growth and support major projects across the South East of England. If you are an experienced Finance Professional with suitable qualifications and relevant experience, then submit your CV to apply today.
Responsibilities and duties of the Accountant role:
- Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for finance functions: budgeting, forecasting, management accounts, cash flow, audit, and financial compliance.
- Partner with operations, projects, commercial and engineering teams to ensure financial rigour across project bids, contracts, cost control and performance management.
- Ensure robust risk management, systems, and internal controls; optimize processes for improved efficiency and transparency.
- High-performance culture aligned with the company's values of reliability, professionalism, and doing things the right way.
Professional qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with strong experience in engineering, utilities, power generation or similar heavy industries.
- Ideally qualified with a relevant Business or Finance degree.
Personal skills:
- Excellent commercial awareness: project finance, contract management, cost estimation, project margin improvement.
- Strong systems mindset; comfortable with financial systems, ERP, and data analysis to inform decision making.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to influence across all levels, from shop-floor engineers to the Board.
Salary and benefits:
- Highly competitive salary up to Β£60,000.
