Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting for 2x Pipefitters to join the Mechanical Main contractor across a number of Conventional Power Projects in the South of England including Milton Keynes and the Bristol area on a 4 months contract.

The Pipefitter positions come with an hourly rate from £28.00 to £32.00 under the CIS Model.

Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

  • Carry out the installation and assembly of industrial pipework systems across power generation and heavy industrial projects throughout the South of England.
  • Install pipework, valves, flanges, supports, brackets and associated mechanical equipment in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
  • Read and work accurately from isometric drawings, P&IDs and mechanical installation drawings.
  • Carry out pipe preparation, measuring, alignment, fitting and bolting to ensure installations are completed to the required tolerances and quality standards.
  • Work closely with coded welders, mechanical supervisors and other trades to complete piping packages safely and to programme.
  • Support the installation of process pipework associated with steam, water, gas and other power-generation systems, depending on project requirements.
  • Complete works in accordance with RAMS, permit-to-work procedures and site health & safety requirements, maintaining high housekeeping standards.
  • Previous experience working on CCGT, OCGT, Energy from Waste, biomass, conventional power stations or similar heavy industrial/process projects is highly desirable.
