Astute's EPC Contract Power team is partnering with a leading Civils Main Contractor within the UK Construction Industry to recruit a Site Manager with Demolition project experience ideally within the Power industry for a 6 months contract (Outside IR35).

Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

  • Manage the safe and efficient demolition of a large-scale manufacturing facility in Renfrewshire, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, budget, and contractual requirements.
  • Take full site management responsibility for demolition, enabling works, and associated civils activities on behalf of the main contractor.
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate site teams including demolition operatives, labourers, groundworkers, plant operators, and specialist subcontractors.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations, CDM requirements, RAMS, and company safety procedures, maintaining high safety standards at all times.
  • Plan and sequence demolition works, including soft strip, structural demolition, and site clearance, minimising disruption to surrounding infrastructure and stakeholders.
  • Oversee heavy plant operations (excavators, crushers, shears, breakers) and ensure all plant and operators are competent and working to approved method statements.
  • Manage waste segregation, recycling, and disposal in line with environmental, sustainability, and duty-of-care requirements.
  • Carry out regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to promote a proactive and compliant safety culture.
  • Liaise with clients, project managers, engineers, local authorities, and third-party stakeholders to ensure coordinated and efficient project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate site records including daily diaries, progress reports, permits, and quality documentation.

Location, day rate and timeframe of the Site Manager position: Bishopton, Renfrewshire Β£380.00 to Β£400.00 per day (Outside IR35) Start date - January 2026 6 months initial contract.
