Astutes Power Team are working with a leading Waste Management company who own and operate one of the largest Energy from Waste plants in the UK. We are looking for a Weighbridge Operative to join the team, on nights, as part of their operations department. As Weighbridge Operative you will be responsible for managing site access and ensuring all incoming deliveries are accurately recorded as per contracts and environmental permits. This is a week on week off rotation, covering 12 hour shifts Sunday night through to Thursday night.
Responsibilities and duties of the Security and Weighbridge Operative role:
- Reporting to the Process Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Maintain the health, safety, and security standards across the site
- Ensure full site compliance with environmental legislation and regulations
- Manage plant and equipment operations, including weighbridge inspections and defect reporting
- Oversee and control all weighbridge movements from start to finish
- Maintain accurate waste input records, consumable delivery logs, daily site diaries, and all required Weighbridge documentation in line with company procedures
- Coordinate the site induction process, including issuing and managing site access cards
- Conduct site inductions for contractors, delivery drivers, and visitors
- Manage internal and external communications and associated documentation
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet operational requirements as needed
Professional qualifications:
- It would be advantageous to have completed an engineering apprenticeship
Personal skills:
- The Security and Weighbridge Operative role would suit someone who is:
- Experienced in handling Weighbridge Operations
- Competent with IT systems to accurately record data
- Able to work alone
- Comfortable working night shifts
