Astute's Power Team is partnered with a market-leading Energy company to recruit an Electrical Technician for their Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Station in Rochester, Kent. The vital Electrical Technician role comes with a basic salary up to £51,484 + Bonus + Overtime + skills shortage allowance + other excellent benefits. Responsibilities and Duties
- Fault-finding and maintaining electrical assets including motors, switchgear, transformers, variable speed drives, HV plant, etc.
- Working in line with maintenance techniques and best practices
- Undertaking/assisting in plant developments/projects
- Setting to work and supervising contractors
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records on the site's CMMSE
- Ensuring HSE compliance at all times
Professional qualifications
- Ideally apprentice trained with an NVQ Level 3 minimum qualification in an Electrical related discipline
- A Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH would be advantageous
- 18th Edition Wiring regulations would be preferred
Personal skills, prior experience and knowledge
- Prior Electrical Engineering experience working in heavy process engineering environments such as Power Stations, Paper Mills, Top Tier COMAH sites, Refineries, Petrochemicals, etc.
- Experience working with High Voltage (HV) systems up to 400kV would be ideal
- Experience working with relevant electrical equipment such as motors, generators, switchgears, etc.
