Astute's Power Team is partnering with a leading critical power infrastructure organisation to recruit a Technical Sales Executive for its Gosport site.
The strategically important Technical Sales Executive role comes with a salary of £40k.
Responsibilities and duties of the Technical Sales Executive role
- Manage key NHS accounts by building strong, long-term relationships with Estates, Facilities and other key stakeholders.
- Identify and develop sales opportunities for remedial works, equipment replacements and new UPS, IPS/Medical-IT and generator installations.
- Follow up quotations proactively, ensuring customers understand the requirements, benefits and urgency of recommended remedial or replacement works.
- Review engineers' service reports to identify potential sales and remedial opportunities, working closely with Service Coordinators to produce accurate and timely quotations.
- Conduct regular customer meetings and site visits, providing account reviews, discussing ongoing requirements and identifying future opportunities.
- Work closely with electrical engineers and contractors to understand installation requirements and ensure suitable electrical supplies and associated works are specified.
- Develop new business relationships with hospitals, consultants, Estates Managers and other relevant stakeholders to expand the customer base.
- Support framework and preferred supplier opportunities, ensuring the business is appropriately positioned with existing and prospective NHS customers.
- Work with consultants and Hospital Estates Managers to specify solutions that meet relevant technical requirements, including HTM 06-01 standards.
- Collaborate with internal service, engineering and coordination teams to ensure a seamless customer journey from initial opportunity through quotation, order and delivery.
- Professional qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in account management, technical sales or a related commercial role, ideally within UPS, IPS, critical power, electrical engineering or a similar industry.
- Proven experience in a proactive, field-based customer-facing role.
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent listening, communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing key accounts and developing structured account plans.
- Strong commercial awareness with the drive to identify and convert opportunities.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customer requirements and priorities effectively.
