Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a well-established business who own and operate their own anaerobic digestion plants, which provide both gas and electricity to the grid. Together we are recruiting a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor for their site in Worcestershire. Responsibilities and duties of the Maintenance Supervisor role:

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager you will coordinate breakdown responses, ensuring the quickest possible resolution.
  • Manage contractors, ensuring adherence to safe systems of work and risk assessments.
  • Perform planned maintenance tasks, record corrective actions on the Shire system, and manage spare parts ordering and follow-up.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Health & Safety policies.
  • Oversee equipment repairs, refurbishments, and new installations/fabrication work.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation.
  • Support ongoing project work and assist the operations team as needed.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed by all staff and contractors.
  • Act as a mentor and role model for new team members.
  • Act as a management representative in the absence of the Operations Manager.
  • Other duties as required.

Professional qualifications:

  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • Experience operating HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Full UK driving Licence.

Personal skills:

  • Supervisory or management experience in a Maintenance/Engineering role on an anaerobic digestion plant or similar heavy processing environment.
  • Over 5 years experience working in a hands-on engineering position.
  • Knowledge of environmental permits, H&S issues and safe working environments.
  • Experience of managing budgets.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • An effective communicator, both verbally and in writing.
