Supply Teachers

Astro Education are looking for qualified Supply Teachers to support secondary schools across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

The Supply Teacher role would see you setting up lessons and ensuring they run smoothly across a variety of subjects and year groups, enabling you to put into practice and build on your classroom skills. A Supply Teacher would suit a seasoned educator as well as a graduate who is seriously considering a career in teaching. This is a perfect role for someone who is eager to make an impact within the classroom but through a flexible route.

Locations include: Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stafford, Stone and Uttoxeter and Staffordshire.

Pay: £120 – £180 daily (DOE)

Paid via PAYE – No umbrella companies.

Full Time, Part Time and Flexible working – Opportuniities to suit all availability.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons across various subjects and age groups.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity of learning during teacher absences.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and teaching assignments.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Be passionate about education and supporting students.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (must have valid visa/ overseas police check if relevant)
  • Relevant references covering your last two years of employment
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
