About the Opportunity
Astro Education are working in partnership with several warm and welcoming primary schools and nurseries across Newcastle and Stoke-on-Trent to recruit Early Years / Nursery Teaching Assistants to join Early Years teams immediately. These are ongoing, flexible, part-time or full-time positions, starting immediately, supporting children in Nursery and Early Years settings. Our partner schools have a strong focus on early development, play-based learning and creating safe, engaging environments for young children, and they are looking for individuals who share this passion for Early Years education.
These roles would suit experienced Early Years practitioners or Teaching Assistants who enjoy working with younger children and supporting their early learning and development.
The Role
- Supporting the class teacher with daily Nursery activities
- Encouraging children’s early communication, play and social development
- Assisting with learning through play and structured activities
- Supporting children with routines, independence and positive behaviour
- Helping to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment
- Working closely with other staff to support children’s development and wellbeing
What We’re Looking For
- Level 2/3 qualified in Childcare or Early Years Education (preferred)
- Passionate about Early Years learning and development
- Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with young children
- Confident supporting learning through play and structured activities
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Paediatric First Aid certification would be highly desirable, though not essential.
