Experienced Exam Invigilator – Reader & Scribe Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester Position: Exam Invigilator / Exam Support Assistant Contract: Temporary, part-time Duration: Mock Exam & GCSE Exam Periods Start Date: As soon as possible Setting: Secondary School Essential Experience: Exam Invigilation, Reading & Scribing Astro Education is currently recruiting for an experienced Exam Invigilator to support a secondary school in the Stockport area during upcoming mock examinations and the main GCSE examination period. This is a temporary, part-time opportunity ideal for an experienced exam invigilator who is confident providing one-to-one and small-group exam support, particularly through reading and scribing. The Role As an Exam Invigilator, you will support students during internal mock exams and formal GCSE examinations, ensuring exams run smoothly and in accordance with school and examination regulations. The role will involve: * Invigilating GCSE and mock examinations * Supporting students on a one-to-one or small-group basis * Reading exam questions and instructions to students * Scribing students' answers accurately and clearly * Providing appropriate exam access support in line with individual student requirements * Ensuring exam conditions and procedures are followed at all times * Helping to prepare examination rooms before and after exams * Maintaining a calm, quiet and supportive examination environment * Reporting any issues or concerns to the Exams Officer or relevant member of staff * Following school and examination-board regulations and procedures Essential Requirements * Previous experience working as an Exam Invigilator * Previous experience providing reading and/or scribing support in examinations – ESSENTIAL * Experience supporting students with additional exam access arrangements * Confidence working with secondary-aged students * Ability to work calmly and professionally in an examination environment * Excellent attention to detail * Reliable, punctual and organised * Able to follow examination regulations and instructions carefully * Available to work flexibly across the mock and GCSE examination periods About Astro Education At Astro Education, our mission is to connect great schools with great people.
