Astro Education is recruiting Early Years / Nursery Teaching Assistants to join early years teams immediately. The role supports children in Nursery and Early Years settings within schools that focus on early development, play‑based learning, and creating safe, engaging environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher with daily nursery activities.
  • Encourage children’s early communication, play, and social development.
  • Assist with learning through play and structured activities.
  • Support children with routines, independence and positive behaviour.
  • Help create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing learning environment.
  • Work closely with other staff to support children’s development and wellbeing.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Level 2/3 qualified in Childcare or Early Years Education (preferred).
  • Passionate about Early Years learning and development.
  • Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with young children.
  • Confident supporting learning through play and structured activities.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Paediatric First Aid certification desirable but not essential.
