We are seeking a detail-oriented Microbiology professional to support laboratory activities related to the cultivation, monitoring, and development of bacterial cultures. The role involves hands-on microbiological work, data collection, and continuous improvement of culturing methods from laboratory scale up to pilot line level. In addition, the candidate will support any relevant ad hoc laboratory projects as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain microorganisms/bacterial cultures using established techniques and standard laboratory protocols.
- Monitor bacterial growth through routine observations, measurements, and documentation (e.g., optical density, colony counts, morphology or via sensor derived techniques such as pH).
- Develop, optimize, and validate bacterial culturing methods, media formulations, and growth conditions to support research or production goals.
- Record, analyze, and report experimental data accurately in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety, biosafety, and quality standards (e.g., SOPs, GLP, GMP where applicable).
- Maintain laboratory equipment, prepare media and reagents, and manage culture inventories.
- Support cross-functional or ad hoc projects as assigned, including troubleshooting experiments, method transfers, or process improvements.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project timelines and scientific objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field; 1-2 years’ experience preferred. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.
- Hands-on experience with microbial/bacterial culturing techniques.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques, basic microbiological assays, and laboratory documentation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely.
- Good organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing project priorities.
- Willingness to learn and achieve progress towards the assigned goals.

- Experience with method development or optimization of microbial growth conditions.
