You will partner closely with site operations teams to implement best-in-class inventory practices and provide hands-on support for physical infrastructure.

This is a client-facing role requiring strong organizational discipline, a proactive mindset, and the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Organization & Management
  • Organize and maintain dedicated inventory areas, ensuring hardware, components, and stock are consistently categorized, clearly labeled, and accurately documented.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of IT peripherals and related assets, from receiving and intake to deployment and disposition.
  • Maintain clean, audit-ready inventory spaces that align with client standards and Astreya operational policies.
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment and accurate stock levels.
  • Cycle Counts & Reconciliation
  • Conduct regular cycle counts of physical inventory and reconcile discrepancies against internal asset tracking and inventory management systems.
  • Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Generate and maintain accurate count reports, distributing findings to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Escalate significant discrepancies or systemic issues to program management with documented evidence.
  • Labeling & Standardization
  • Develop, document, and implement standardized labeling conventions and inventory management practices to improve asset traceability and reduce errors.
  • Create and maintain SOPs for inventory intake, storage, issuance, and returns.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across inventory operations.
  • Train and guide lower-level technicians or support staff on established inventory procedures.
  • Physical Infrastructure Support
  • Provide hands-on support for basic network cabling and physical infrastructure tasks, including cable management, patching, and labeling.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of physical layer issues and coordinate escalation or repair activities with the appropriate technical teams.
  • Support office builds, expansions, and refresh projects by assisting with equipment staging, cabling, and inventory logistics.

Qualifications

  • Required
  • 5+ years of experience in IT asset management, inventory control, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with inventory management systems (e. g., Service Now, Snipe-IT, or similar ITSM/ITAM platforms).
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware and peripherals, including desktops, laptops, monitors, docking stations, keyboards, and related accessories.
  • Experience conducting cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and maintaining accurate asset records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interfacing with client stakeholders.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs and work in data center or server room environments.
  • Preferred
  • Comp TIA A+, Network+, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in a hyperscale technology or data center environment.
  • Familiarity with DCIM tools or structured cabling standards (e. g., ANSI/TIA-568).
  • Prior experience developing or refining SOPs for inventory or asset management workflows.
  • Exposure to ticketing systems such as Jira or Service Now for tracking work orders and requests.
  • Familiarity with basic network infrastructure concepts including structured cabling, patch panels, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Ability to read and produce basic network/floor plan documentation and cable maps.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
