The Opportunity: Launch Your Career in Global Data Infrastructure

Are you passionate about networking, meticulous about data, and ready to kickstart your career in the high-growth field of fiber network infrastructure? We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fiber Network Mapping Specialist to join our team. This role is your entry point into understanding the physical architecture of a global fiber network. You won't just be entering data; you'll be trained to build and maintain the ever-growing footprint of our customer fiber network.

We are looking for candidates with foundational knowledge, an appetite for complex problem-solving, and a commitment to high-quality work. If you are eager to learn from expert engineers and want your work to have a tangible impact on global connectivity, this is the role for you.

Core Responsibilities

  • Digital Modeling: Learn to document, edit, and manage all Outside Plant (OSP) long-haul fiber networks fiber assets interconnecting various Points-of-Presence (POPs) types. This includes recording fiber connectivity, cable routes, splice records, and physical layer specifications to be used by vendors for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Data Integrity & Translation: Be trained to review engineering diagrams, design schematics, and vendor As-Built documentation. You will learn to translate this physical information into accurate digital records using specialized software (e.g., OSPi, Netcracker, ArcGIS).
  • Modeling Support: Assist senior specialists in ensuring the accuracy and logical structure of the field infrastructure assets by reviewing design drawings, schematics, diagrams, performing detailed data checks, and helping resolve discrepancies between the physical infrastructure and its digital representation.
  • Documentation & Process: Work with the team to digitize, record, and verify all passive and active network elements, ensuring all changes (Moves, Adds, Changes) are properly logged and memorialized in the system.
  • Cross-Functional Teamwork: Provide support by running basic network data reports, assisting with capacity checks, and facilitating communication between the engineering, installation, and field survey teams.
  • Visualization Tools: Utilize software such as AutoCad, Google Earth/Maps to visualize, plan, and communicate network paths and layouts.

Qualifications: This role is structured for growth and development. We value aptitude and enthusiasm as much as direct experience.

Required Foundational Knowledge & Skills

  • Telecommunications Interest: Foundational knowledge or proven interest in telecommunications construction techniques, networking principles, or fiber optic technology.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to be highly organized and meticulous when working with data or complex documentation.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency with Google suite (especially Sheets) and a strong ability to learn new, complex software platforms quickly.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to clearly document technical information for various audiences.
  • Documentation Mindset: An understanding of the importance of creating and maintaining clear process documentation and technical guides.

Desirable Experience

  • Any exposure to specialized fiber network management software (e.g., OSPi, Netcracker, ArcGIS, SmallWorld).
  • Familiarity with interpreting technical schematics or blueprints.
  • Basic knowledge of fiber network infrastructure, routes, splicing, racks, panels, or cabling standards.
