We are looking for an experienced and passionate Key Stage 3 practitioner to join our team as a Key Stage 3 Literacy Specialist. This is a rewarding opportunity to support secondary schools in strengthening literacy provision and improving reading outcomes for pupils across Key Stage 3. Working as part of our English Hub team, you will provide intensive school-to-school support, coaching leaders and teachers, delivering professional development and helping schools implement evidence-informed approaches to reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary development and reading for pleasure.
To be successful in this role, you will have significant KS3 teaching experience, excellent knowledge of effective literacy and reading practice, and the ability to build positive professional relationships with colleagues across a range of settings. This flexible role offers the opportunity to work with an ambitious and collaborative English Hub team dedicated to improving literacy and reading outcomes for pupils across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist literacy support, advice and coaching to secondary schools to strengthen reading provision and improve outcomes for pupils across Key Stage 3.
Support schools to implement evidence-informed approaches to reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary development, disciplinary literacy and reading for pleasure.
Work collaboratively with school leaders to evaluate literacy provision, identify priorities for improvement and develop sustainable whole-school literacy strategies.
Coach and mentor teachers and leaders, supporting the implementation of effective interventions for struggling readers and disadvantaged pupils.
Build and maintain positive professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, acting as an advocate for high-quality literacy and reading education.
Contribute to the wider work of the English Hub, sharing best practice and supporting the successful delivery of literacy-focused programmes and initiatives across the partnership.

The Trust
The Lighthouse Schools Partnership (LSP) is a Multi-Academy Trust which has experienced rapid growth since it started in 2016. From September there will be 33 schools in the Trust.
The Lighthouse Schools Partnership is cross-phase and includes Infant, Junior, Primary and Secondary schools. The Trust is a mixed MAT and includes both non-denominational and Church of England schools.
