We are looking for a Cover Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to join GLT / Wallington County Grammar School and become an integral member of the teaching team. Greenshaw Learning Trust is a highly successful multi‑academy trust that provides excellent quality, comprehensive and inclusive education through primary schools and secondary schools.
Main responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes during the absence of teachers.
- Supervise Private Study Areas.
- Undertake before‑school, break and lunchtime or examination supervision as required.
- Support for any administration areas, as required.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support for departments or cross‑curricular areas as required including reprographics, and also provide research, display/preparation of materials, routine marking not requiring specialist knowledge and the contacting of e.g. parents regarding straightforward matters.
- Ensure a tidy and well‑presented working environment within the departmental areas/buildings.
- Provide cover for the main school reception as required.
- Supervise groups of included students as required.
- To invigilate on Exam Entrance Day as required.
You will need:
- English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade 4 or C or above.
- First Aid training (or willingness to be trained).
- Ability to manage classes of pupils and any potentially challenging behaviour.
- Ability to form good working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and work as part of a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues relating to pupils, maintaining confidentiality as required.
