Purpose of the post

Support the delivery of multi‑channel marketing and communications activities, including content creation, digital promotion, event support, web and social media management, and parental communications.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Work closely with the marketing manager, business leads and senior leadership to deliver multi‑channel marketing activities aligned with Trust priorities.
  • Champion and promote individual academy brands through print and digital collateral.
  • Create engaging copy for marketing and communications, following house style and Plain English principles.
  • Support production of key recruitment materials, ensuring brand compliance.
  • Assist with promotion of sixth‑form and early‑years enrolment, including recruitment of post‑16 students.
  • Provide marketing support for key events such as open evenings and other academy events.
  • Support the marketing manager with photoshoots and video production.
  • Maintain and update academy and Trust websites using a CMS, following web governance principles.
  • Manage day‑to‑day social media channels and monitor engagement.
  • Support direct parental communications using the Weduc platform.
  • Identify and support PR opportunities, including GCSE and A‑level results days.
  • Promote academy events and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Assist with internal communications and staff engagement initiatives.
  • Respond to queries from colleagues via the marketing email inbox.
  • Follow standards and processes to monitor and evaluate marketing activity against objectives.
  • Provide consistent expert support for the overall marketing and communications strategy.
  • Keep up to date with popular culture, digital trends and emerging communication platforms.
  • Embrace change, support new ways of working and share best practice.
  • Represent the Communications Function at opportunities within the role.
  • Escalate issues and concerns to relevant manager as required.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development for self and others.

Person specification

Qualifications – Educated to degree standard or equivalent, optionally with a professional qualification (e.g. CIPR, CIM).

Experience, knowledge and understanding – Supporting multi‑channel marketing and communication plans. Digital marketing initiatives. Design software and creative design outputs. Web CMS, especially WordPress. News and PR activity, including media handling. Copywriting for various channels using Plain English. Project management of multiple concurrent projects. Social media platforms usage and measurement. Data analysis to inform decision‑making. Data protection and handling confidential information.

Personal attributes, qualities and leadership skills – Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Creative content generation. Relationship building with internal and external stakeholders. Other requirements – Flexible working with some travel and occasional evenings. Availability for up to ten additional days on a pay‑on‑claim basis during school holidays if required. Subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check and pre‑employment medical checks.

Two Marketing Officer positions are available: one at Tuxford Academy and one at East Leake Academy, each offered at 22 hours per week. There is also a potential full‑time option (37 hours per week) covering both academies.
