Astrea Academy Trust is seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Coordinator to support the planning, coordination and delivery of projects across the Trust. You will coordinate allocated projects and contribute to the governance and oversight of projects led within Trust directorates, ensuring change is delivered consistently and effectively using our standardised project management methodology.
This role is particularly suited to a graduate or early career professional who is looking to build a career in project coordination/project management, with structured support, exposure to varied projects and the opportunity to develop best-practice skills.
Key Responsibilities- Support the delivery of multiple projects across the full lifecycle, ensuring each follows the Trust’s project delivery approach.
- Coordinate activity across directorates, helping ensure standards are met for documentation, risk management, and budget control.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to keep objectives and outcomes on track, identifying and escalating risks/issues promptly.
- Maintain clear project governance admin, including accurate tracking of actions, deadlines and ownership (e.g., RAID and milestone tracking).
- Support regular project status reporting, working alongside the Trust Change Coordinator to keep information accurate and up to date.
- Help define and document SMART objectives, timelines and milestones, supporting directorate leads to plan effectively.
- Liaise with Finance colleagues to update budget trackers and support directorate leads with budget monitoring.
- Support testing activity by helping to develop test plans, identify test resources (including schools/partners) and ensure defects/issues are documented.
- A highly organised coordinator who can manage competing priorities and deadlines calmly and effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to produce clear updates and engage a range of stakeholders confidently.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach—able to spot potential blockers early and escalate appropriately.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly with documentation, trackers, and reporting accuracy.
- Confidence working with data (e.g., budgets, plans, logs) and maintaining well-structured records.
- Ability to build positive working relationships across teams and directorates, including with senior colleagues.
- An interest in project management best practice (experience supporting projects is beneficial, but not essential for early career candidates).
