The Opportunity:

  • Lead LSA N12 - N19, 37 hours per week, term time.
  • Fixed term for 2 years from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2028.

We are looking to appoint a Lead LSA to work with the Deputy SENDCO, SENDCO, Heads of House and others, to identify and support students at risk of underachievement or exclusion and to provide academic, emotional and behavioural support.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead on training for staff around issues related to SEND and coordinating interventions.
  • To arrange, deliver and evaluate interventions for pupils with SEND.
  • To assist with the management of Engage as a provision for pupils to receive emotional support, access arrangements for tests, screeners, assessments, interventions and reintegration strategies.
  • Communicate with parents and other designated carers and staff about the care and education of their children.
  • Promote partnership working between home and school and help to develop and maintain parental interest in their child's education.
  • Deliver intervention as part of the Hedgerow, our alternative curriculum (as required).
  • Support with admin related duties such as for exam access arrangements (as required).

About You:

It would be an advantage to have experience, skills and an interest in delivering foundational knowledge in specialist / primary settings / secondary such as the following:

  • Reading/literacy: phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension strategies and handwriting skills.
  • Mathematics: number sense, place value and basic calculation facts.
  • Social and emotional development: communication, self-regulation, organisation and relationship skills.

An interest and experience in effectively supporting pupils with needs within the following categories will be an advantage:

  • SEMH and / or
  • Cognition & Learning and / or
  • Communication & Interaction and / or
  • Physical & Sensory.
