Job Overview

About Us

Amplify Education is a newly formed multi-academy trust of 22 schools in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset, created through the thoughtful and planned merger of TiLA and CST. A bold voice for Bristol, we build belief in every young person, expand opportunities, nurture potential and strengthen citizenship. If you’re looking for a Trust that is ambitious, reflective and collaborative, Amplify Education could be the perfect place for you.

We invite you to join our team at Victoria Park Primary School.

We are a vibrant, happy and successful two-form entry school in the south of Bristol. We are a hard-working team, committed to achieving excellence in our own practice and providing the best possible opportunities for our children. We pride ourselves on our positive relationships between adults and children, our calm learning environment, and our belief in our four school values of Respect, Curiosity, Kindness and Determination.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a flexible, dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Cover Supervisor to teach cover lessons for teachers when they are on timetabled release time or (if required) because of short term absence.

This role makes an essential contribution to the school by ensuring that children experience cover lessons that replicate the same high learning expectations and consistency of routines as all lessons in the school. The role is a key component of our wider school improvement strategy enabling teaching staff to be released to undergo planning, preparation and assessment time (PPA) or essential training that directly improves teaching practice in the school.

If you join us, a typical week in this role will see you delivering ambitious, engaging lessons across the full range of year groups in the school, promoting a love of learning and providing a purposeful, safe learning environment for all pupils. You will utilise classroom management skills and positive relationships to ensure all children achieve and are successful.

In return, we offer an adaptable and caring staff team, professional development opportunities, a strong collaborative school culture and a thriving, inclusive wider school community.

To find out more about this role, please read the job description and person specification.

We can offer you

  • Continuing professional and leadership development
  • Employee assistance programme, offering counselling, support and advice on a wide array of areas
  • Discounted gym membership, cycle-to-work scheme, eyesight test vouchers
  • Flexible working fully supported and enhanced family friendly policies
  • All new staff are automatically enrolled in the Teacher’s Pension or LGPS Avon Pension Fund.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts at Amplify Education are subject to pre-employment checks incl, but not limited to, initial and periodic enhanced level checks with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Applications are welcome from all suitably qualified candidates regardless of race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or religious belief, sex or sexual orientation, gender reassignment, disability or age, and maternity, marital or civil partner status. We particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups.

The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media account names/handles, as part of the interview process.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are \"spent\" unless they are *protected\" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
