Location – Orchard Park High School, Croydon

Contract – 36 hours per week, Full Time (Support Staff – Educational)

Salary – Calculated in line with the NJC pay scale 6/7 (Outer London Points 18-25). Annual (gross) £35,520 - £39,276. Actual salary £30,631 - £33,870 per annum pro‑rated.

Responsibilities

  • Take a key role in managing and delivering SEND support to learners with a SEND need through a co‑ordinated approach within the levels of need framework
  • Monitor the Education Leadership Programme’s (ELP) education programmes appropriate to each pupil’s developmental profile
  • Train the ELP and mainstream teaching assistants to ensure they gain the specialist skills to support students with speech, language and communication needs (SCLN)
  • Identify pupils in need of additional support using a wide range of information, including academic progress data, behaviour data and attendance data, and coordinate, plan and deliver provision to alleviate barriers to learning
  • Attend to students’ SEND needs and provide advice to ensure all staff have a good understanding of individual needs
  • Undertake screening and diagnostic assessments of students to identify or direct relevant trained teaching assistants to do so
  • Assess areas of need to access timely and appropriate levels of SEND support and intervention
  • Lead on the development and implementation of individual engagement and support plans to ensure students make progress with short, medium and long‑term outcomes
  • Establish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of interventions
