We are looking for an enthusiastic class teacher to join our friendly and supportive teaching team. Visits to the school are warmly encouraged; please call the school office on 020 8644 5665 to make an appointment. Tweeddale is a thriving, well‑resourced 2 form entry school with a purpose‑built wing for our Nursery and Reception classes. We achieved an Ofsted judgement of ‘Good’ in July 2024.

Main responsibilities:
- Deliver high‑quality teaching using effective resources, ensuring all pupils achieve the National Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Plan to meet the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and support developing Education and Health Care plans in collaboration with the Deputy Head – Inclusion.
- Use informed planning and varied teaching strategies to keep pupils engaged through creative, challenging, and differentiated activities, effective questioning, and lively presentation.
- Set high expectations for pupil behaviour, maintain discipline standards, and manage inappropriate behaviour within the school’s Behaviour Management and Anti‑Bullying Policies.
- Contribute to and implement the Tweeddale Development Plan.
- Lead a curriculum area (where applicable) to ensure effective delivery, progression and assessment, raising subject standards across the school.
You will need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Recent, relevant experience at primary level, including placements for Early Career Teachers where applicable.
- An inclusive teaching philosophy for children with SEN.
- Experience with a range of assessment‑for‑learning methods and their purposes.
- High standards for teaching and learning.
- Strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
