AstraZeneca is seeking Quality Control Laboratory Technicians to join our Analytical Chemistry team at the Macclesfield site. This role involves testing products within the Quality Control Laboratory against registered specifications to agreed customer service lead times.

The Analytical Chemistry Group in the Quality Assurance Department (QAD) performs Quality Control testing and process assurance activities for all production plants on the Macclesfield Site, as well as contract work for Pharmaceutical Development.

Due to business expansion, we currently have multiple opportunities for Quality Control Chemistry Technicians to formally clear or reject products from the Quality Control laboratory teams against agreed Quality Standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Testing formulated products, raw materials, and active pharmaceutical ingredients against registered Quality Specifications to ensure quality, safety, and efficacy prior to delivery to the customer.
  • Utilising a wide range of analytical techniques including Dissolution, HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography), UV-Vis, GLC, and Infra-Red analysis.
  • Ensuring that appropriate quality systems are followed to meet responsibilities with respect to GCLP, GMP, and SHE.
  • Optimising processes within the laboratory using LEAN tools and techniques.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified to degree/or equivalent in Chemistry with an understanding of working in a GMP environment.
  • Experience in basic analytical and chromatographic techniques.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in the use of electronic notebooks and data handling systems.
  • Experience of working within laboratory Quality Control.
