As the Medical Affairs Manager, you will play a key role in providing clinical insights, maintaining a strong customer focus, and ensuring clinical governance aligns with the Medical and Business Unit objectives. Collaboration with the field MSL team and external partner companies will be essential to ensure compliance with GCP requirements, local Quality Management System (QMS) SOP, and all AZ policies and Standards, including the ABPI Code of Practice. Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the patient is central to all activities.
  • Develop and maintain scientific relationships with key customers to build customer insight and develop strategic scientific partnerships.
  • Work closely with the medical affairs team to provide expert medical input into key Market Access activities (NICE/SMC, AWMSG submissions, formulary and protocol submissions etc).
  • Support the medical response to requests for scientific exchange of information from key stakeholders as deemed appropriate.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Registered Physician (preferably GMC) or Pharmacist (General Pharmaceutical Council) and/or Higher Life Science Degree (e.g., PhD / MSc)
  • Knowledgeable about the NHS landscape and set up
  • Proven ability to interact with external stakeholders
  • Evidence of effective team working and accountability

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Member/Fellow of a Royal College of Physicians/Surgeons/GPs or the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Technical expertise in the allocated disease/therapy area
  • Prior experience within the pharmaceutical industry
