Introduction to role:
Are you ready to take on a dynamic role that puts you at the heart of engineering projects? As a Project Engineer, you\’ll be an integral part of a project team, working closely with the project manager to ensure successful delivery of work packages and projects. You\’ll be hands-on, actively engaging with tasks on-site, and driving projects to meet timelines, budgets, and customer expectations. Your expertise will be crucial in managing all aspects from design through to completion and handover.
Accountabilities:
In this role, you\’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure project success. You\’ll support the project manager, act as commissioning manager, develop costs and schedules, and ensure training plans are in place. You\’ll promote AstraZeneca\’s SHE culture, manage work packages, write project documentation, submit progress reports, maintain standards, coordinate resources, manage client relationships, and identify and manage risks. Coordinate with suppliers, lead multi-functional teams, agree on objectives, ensure quality standards are met, prepare cost estimates, support planning and scheduling, manage scope changes, review designs and work you\’re doing, assist in project preparation, lead all aspects of change control and commissioning activities, update project schedules, use CEMAR for documentation, attend GK meetings, maintain training records, participate in PWGs, and conduct SHE audits.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge and awareness of Project Management principles, documents and plans
- Working in large (circa £3M) and small scale projects (£0.5M)
- Awareness of CDM roles (Principal Designer, Client etc.)
- APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent project process
- Risk management
- Good facilitation and analytical skills.
- Ability to deliver results on time, on budget, and to the high standards.
- Ability to quickly gain the technical, behavioural and contextual elements of a project.
- Project reporting.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Architectural, etc.)
- Understand engineering drawings, construction sites and activities
- Organisational and leadership skills
- APM, PRINCE2 or equivalent accreditation
- GMP, Validation and Pharmaceutical processes
- NEC4 Contracts
- CEMAR (contract management system)
- Strong drive and resilience.
